My Story

Welcome to my little piece of the world!

I’m so humbled that you want to know more about me and my blog. First of all, thanks for being here! I’m a perpetual learner who loves - and struggles - to find beauty, adventure, and meaning in every place I am planted.

The journey  through life's seasons has not been easy, but all good things take time and a lot of hard work. It is through my own experiences with C-PTSD, anxiety, depression, and seeking help that I developed a desire to share what has brought me into a season of flourishing. Through sharing my own story and the lessons I have learned I hope to help others through their own journey's and create a community where people receive inspiration and encouragement.

Why Did I Want to do This?

The Top 3 reasons I wanted to start this blog.

Encourage & Give Hope

You are never alone. Life is full of ups and downs, sometimes feeling like all there is downs. We all can use some encouragement that there is something better ahead and purpose for the pain. My hope is to be able to uplift and encourage you no matter what season of life they are in.

Support & Share

It is okay to not be okay. Through my own experiences and journey of healing I want to pass on things that have been shared with me and things I have learned (sometimes the hard way) and create a community where you can find support and share your own inspirational stories.

Inspire Adventure

I had lost my sense of adventure after years of depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Through what I have learned I hope to enable you to find your rebellious resiliency and embark on your own adventures to far off places or just down the street to that cute coffee shop or book shop!

Perhaps this is the moment for which
you have been created.

More About Me

Growing Up

I grew up in the beautiful mountains of Colorado where my two younger sisters and I ran wild. My mom instilled creativity in us which led us to running our own dinosaur museum in the garage, a mud-themed restaurant on the deck, My Little Pony villages in the bathroom, and lots and lots of reading. The mountains have always felt like home no matter where I have traveled.

My favorite books were the Trailblazer series. True stories of missionaries who traveled to dangerous foreign places and risked their lives to save people both physically and spiritually. Individuals like Gladys Aylward, Amy Carmichael, and Cory Ten Boom all pulled at my soul to live like they did. My favorite Bible story was Esther and how brave she was. This all inspired me to go on a mission's trip at the age of 15. My first trip out of the country.

I spent almost three months traveling with a group through England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland integrating with local churches and working with the local youth. In order to prepare as a group, we spent three weeks camping in a corn field in Illionois, limited showers, making our own food, and waking up at the crack of dawn for obstacle courses. Unknown to me this would play into a calling much later in life...

My Wings

After college I struggled to make ends meet. My graphic design degree didn’t get me in the door like I had hoped and my job in retail was leaving me unfulfilled. There is a distinct memory I have laying on my living room floor with unpaid bills in hand sobbing. Praying for help. On a drive home through the canyons of Colorado a thought crossed my mind...join the Air Force. When I shared the idea with my mom she cried. She had been praying God give me wings.

I joined the United States Air Forace at 24 and have been in for 16+ years. I love my job, the amazing people it's given me, and the places it sent me. It hasn’t been without is trauma and sacrifices. Some which I will share in my stories along our time together.

Here & Now

My work has led me from home to abroad, and now I reside and thrive in the United Kingdom. Moving to a new country can be an exciting yet challenging experience, especially when dealing with personal struggles like PTSD. However, living here has allowed me to visit numerous dream destinations and sparked significant personal healing and development.

Come share the
journey with me!
